Indigenous Australia on TV

Continuing from my previous post, this is one reason why I really appreciate SBS producing and broadcasting RAN (Remonte Area Nurse) which is set on an Island in the Torres Strait. It offers very interesting insights into Islander life, albeit through the eyes of a white Australian woman.

Also worth looking out for will be the Going Bush documentary series - also on SBS - with two rather famous Aboriginal women, Cathy Freeman and Deborah Mailman, travelling through the bush in outback Australia. It starts this Wednesday night. I can't wait.

Because I was away camping last week, consider this my – late – Invasion Day post to mark the 26 of January.
