This is a place where I share my ideas and my writing and put into practice my hopes for greater connection, critical thinking and clear expression amongst people who care about our world, our communities, and each other. Social and political issues, writing, language, fathers and fathering - these are some of the things you'll find here.

About Me
- Name: Mark Lawrence
- Location: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
I am a writer and a reader, and believe in the power of words and images to make a difference. I make a basic living helping other people's words look good, and need to express my ideas in my own words and images to keep sane. I am also a father: my two young sons are currently the joy and challenge of my life, and I'm loving it.

So, you're the immortal hand or eye that framed its fearful symmetry. That's a bloody fine cake. Happy birthday to your young 'un, and many more.
That's AMAZING. Wow. I am so impressed. Happy birthday to Jamie. I hope he enjoys the full Oedipal throes of four - Freud was onto something about a huge violent internal drama occurring around this age, that's for sure.
Happy birthday Jamie. I hope you receive you present soon. I loved the birthday cake. Mark, you can now do your own birthday cakes!
love, your sister.

I may be too dramatic in here, but my this post always reminds me of those old good days of happiness and love. I wish all the best, even if you're an oldie now, and always be a good boy!
Happy birthday! Ugh. The happiest day really for me is my birthday since I feel so special and loved.
