I am a writer and a reader, and believe in the power of words and images to make a difference. I make a basic living helping other people's words look good, and need to express my ideas in my own words and images to keep sane. I am also a father: my two young sons are currently the joy and challenge of my life, and I'm loving it.

Me too. Thanks for linking to this, Mark -- I'm really glad I read it.
I've been brewing a quiet storm over this latest witch hunt, so I'm really, really glad that Leslie has spoken out so clearly and eloquently the way she has, so I'm only glad to spread the word.
I must have missed this opinion article, Mark, so I'm grateful to you for sharing it. I did see that the letters to the editor were unanimous in supporting what seems to be an ethical and outstanding school principal.
A lot of the publicity for this event has been generated by the SMH because of the new book
